The Permanent Disputes Between Spouses and Means of Resolving Them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message from the Eastern Region of the Kingdom, sent by one of the brothers, says: The contract is with a doctor (A. L. H. D): Our brother has a case with his wife. He first mentions that he is in a permanent dispute with her, for reasons he describes as trivial in many cases?
Answer: We advise them to be patient, gentle, to advise each other to do what is right, to be patient, to avoid quarreling, and to avoid divorce. We advise everyone to cooperate in doing good and to advise each other to do good, and to avoid contention. We advise the woman to listen and obey her husband in what is right. We advise the husband to be patient, to be forbearing, and not to be hasty in divorcing, striking, or insulting. Each of them must bear the burden and use gentleness in all matters. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whenever there is compassion in something, it adorns it, and whenever it is removed from something it disgraces it.إن الرفق لا يكون في شيء إلا زانه، ولا ينزع من شيء إلا شان
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 27:14
, and because this conduct falls under the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And live with them in kindnessوَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
[Surat al-Nisa: 19],
And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonableوَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 228].
Constant quarreling and contention are among the causes of divorce, as are insults and abuse. Therefore, it is obligatory for each of them to guard their tongue from what is not appropriate, and to guard their limbs from what is not appropriate, and to be gentle in matters, forbearing, and patient. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
