The ruling on greeting and shaking hands with one’s father’s paternal uncle’s daughter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Among the questions from this questioner, Your Eminence the Shaykh, she mentions and says: A man has a paternal aunt, who is the daughter of his father’s paternal uncle. She is not an elderly woman who is bedridden, nor is she a very young girl. Is it permissible to greet her?

Answer:
He greets her with words. This is what is called a paternal aunt; it is called the daughter of a paternal uncle. She is not a mahram to him; she is a non-mahram. He greets her with words only. He does not shake her hand, nor does he kiss her head.
As for the paternal aunt, she is the father’s sister. The paternal aunt is the father’s sister, and the grandfather’s sister is also called a paternal aunt. She is the sister of his father or the sister of his grandfather. She is a mahram. He may shake her hand and kiss between her eyes and her head.
As for the daughter of a paternal uncle and the daughter of a maternal uncle, they are not mahrams to him. Therefore, he may not shake their hands or kiss their heads. And they may not uncover themselves before him, because they are non-mahrams to him: the daughter of his paternal uncle and the daughter of his maternal uncle. Yes.
