The Ruling on Marriage Without the Mother's Consent

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: I previously submitted a question to Your Eminence, and it has caused me anxiety. I have proposed to a pious girl, but my mother does not want her to be my wife due to family disputes. Your Eminence said:
A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the "Creator.”إنه لا طاعة لمخلوق في معصية الخالق
Mishkat al-Masabih 3696
So, what is the authenticity of the hadith of Ibn 'Umar:
Obey your father.أطع أباك
This question is necessary, and we ask Your Eminence to answer it?

Answer:
The Shaykh: If your father were like 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, and your mother were like 'Umar ibn al-Khattab—the point being that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Ibn 'Umar to obey 'Umar regarding a woman who was not suitable—then that is one case. But if the woman is righteous and good, and your mother does not want her for some reason between them, then if you can find another woman and combine the two benefits—between pleasing your mother and the woman—then that is better and more pleasant. If that is not possible, then please your parents with kind words. If she does not want her, then place her in another location and another house, and be good to your mother. Chastise yourself by marrying, so that you may chastise yourself and obey your Lord through marriage. You are commanded to marry. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immoralityيا معشر الشباب من استطاع منكم الباءة؛ فليتزوج؛ فإنه أغض للبصر، وأحصن للفرج
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
.
The Shaykh: You are commanded to obey your Lord and to obey your mother. So you must be dutiful to your mother with kind words, kindness, and spending on her—if she is in need. And you must chastise yourself through marriage if a suitable, righteous woman is available. If you can combine the two matters—between pleasing her and having a suitable woman—then that is better. If that is not possible, and the only woman available is one she dislikes without right... then marry, and please your mother by whatever means you are able. If you cannot, then place her in one place and your mother in another, and seek help from Allah in that. Allah will help you if you desire good and are sincere in seeking good.
