Marriage without the father's consent

Marriage without the father's consent?
Answer: It is prescribed for the believer to seek the father's approval, because dutifulness to him is obligatory, and the same applies to the mother. One should consult them... because there is no substitute for the father, whereas a woman has a substitute, as there are many women, and a son is likewise. So if he finds a righteous, good woman, there is no harm in consulting his father, pressing him on the matter, and asking good brothers to advise him until he agrees. This is because a righteous woman should not be rejected, nor should she be left, and it is not permissible for his father to prevent him from that. There is no blame in marrying her even if the father is not pleased, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Obedience is in matters which are good and universally recognized.إنما الطاعة في المعروف
Sunan Abi Dawud 2625Sahih (Al-Albani)
. A righteous wife is part of what is right. However, as much as he can, he should try to please his father or seek another righteous woman so that the opportunity is not missed, as this is better for combining the two benefits: dutifulness to his father and obtaining a righteous woman, as much as possible. If that does not work out and he fears losing her, and she is a righteous woman known for good, then there is no blame on him, if Allah wills, in marrying her even if his father is not pleased. His father may agree later, and generally, a good father does not dislike a righteous woman. If he does dislike her, then there must be something that necessitated the dislike.
Therefore, the son should not rush; rather, he should be patient, understand the reasons, and seek help in gaining his parents' approval if there are no reasons preventing the marriage. He should seek help from his uncles, brothers, and good neighbors to make him agree, if Allah wills. He should not rush into marriage without his approval as much as possible, except after being assured that there is nothing preventing the marriage and that his father is being stubborn because he is an unsound man who does not want what is good. This would be a great error. Yes.
