Ruling on performing tayammum for one who wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity in cold weather
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q92: The questioner says: If a person wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity during cold weather, should he perform tayammum?
A92: If he fears for his health and has no means to warm the water, he should perform tayammum; for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:[An-Nisa 4:43], and 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) performed tayammum while on a military expedition. He had contracted major ritual impurity during the night, and the weather was cold, so he (may Allah be pleased with him) performed tayammum and led his companions in prayer. When he returned, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of this and approved of it.
A92: If he fears for his health and has no means to warm the water, he should perform tayammum; for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving.
