Ruling on a person sitting in the mosque while in a state of major ritual impurity or without ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q77: The questioner Abu Ibrahim from Jeddah asks: What is the ruling on entering the Sacred Mosque to listen to lectures while I am without ablution or in a state of major ritual impurity?
A77: It is not permissible for you to sit in the Sacred Mosque, nor in any other
mosque, while you are in a state of major ritual impurity; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not permit that. As for passing through the Sacred Mosque or any other mosque merely to pass by, there is nothing wrong with it. Allah the Exalted said:
or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body]وَلاَ جُنُبًا إِلاَّ عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلُوا
[An-Nisa 4:43]
, so it is not permissible for one in a state of major ritual impurity to sit in the mosque, whether the Sacred Mosque or any other, for a lesson or a sermon, or anything else, until he takes a full ritual bath.
