Drinking after the Adhan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13888 )
Q: One day in Ramadan, I got up about 7 minutes after the Fajr adhan to drink, and I did not know that it was the Fajr adhan, until a friend said to me: Do not drink until we know that the time has entered. So I drank, and then he told me: It has been 7 minutes since the Fajr adhan. Knowing that I completed the fast for that day, do I owe an expiation along with making up the fast, and what is the ruling?
A: It is obligatory for you to make up one day in place of that day, and you do not owe an expiation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
