The first question of Fatwa number ( 14770 )
Q 1: I prayed the Zuhr prayer behind the imam until we completed four rak'ahs, and in the middle of the final tashahhud, my wudu' was invalidated . Is my prayer valid or invalid, and what should I do?
A 1 : If your wudu' was invalidated during the final tashahhud, your prayer is invalid, and you must renew your wudu' and repeat the prayer. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ma'idah 5:6] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 306 narrated by Muslim . The intent of this hadith is that one should not leave until he is certain that he has broken his wudu'; if he is certain, he leaves and renews his wudu'. And based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) in what was narrated by Muslim and others: Sunan Ibn Majah 274Sahih (Darussalam). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
