Supporting the Association for Disabled Children from Voluntary Charity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. After that: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from the questioner: Prince Sultan ibn Salman Al Saud , which was referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars with number (1805) and date 9/8/1424 AH. The questioner asked a question, the text of which is: I would like to inform Your Eminence that the Society for Disabled Children is in the process of cooperating with Al-Miftah First Company to issue a (Tarrahim) card, which is a communication and donation card that allows its holder the ability to make phone calls
International calls and calls within the Kingdom. The user purchases the card for the purpose of making phone calls, and during the call, the computer responds by saying: 'If you wish to donate the full value of the card or the remaining balance, press number such-and-such, and the value will automatically be transferred to the Association for Disabled Children.' The donation mechanism has been carefully studied to ensure that, with Allah's will, it reaches the support of the Association's services for its children. I seek Your Eminence's guidance, may Allah preserve you, regarding the permissibility of these cards.

After studying the inquiry, the Committee responded: There is no objection to issuing this card and dealing with it in the manner described in the inquiry.
