The marriage of his mother and his mother’s hatred of the Shari'ah: should he separate from them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second and third questions from Fatwa No. ( 10805 )
Q 2: Do I bear any sin for living with this man and my mother,
who both hate the application of the Shari'ah and fight against it in the house? Am I obligated to leave the house if they expel me, and to not listen to my mother’s words about returning to him? And Allah is the Provider?

A 2: It is obligatory for you to continue advising your mother and her husband. If they persist in what they are doing, avoid living with them in the house. Maintain your relationship with your mother through whatever you can of visiting or financial support, or both, so that you thereby combine preserving your religion with dutifulness to your mother. Do not listen to your mother’s words about returning to her husband’s house, in order to stay away from the source of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and the cause of harm. Strive to maintain your relationship with your father, deal with him well, and advise him, so that perhaps his situation will improve, he will provide for you, and the problem will be resolved.
Q 3: What about the matter of the Islamic University? Should I disobey my mother’s words and enroll in it? And what should I tell the officials there about my documentary status and my health condition?
A 3: Strive to achieve the means that will help you enter the Islamic University to learn the rulings of Islam, even if your mother is not pleased; for obedience to parents is only in what is right. Be truthful with the officials at the university and place your reliance on Allah. And whoever places his reliance on Allah, He is sufficient for him. And whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
