Calling the Parents or the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18672 )
Q 2: It is common among some people, especially the elderly and the old,
to say when standing up or sitting down: “O Parents” or “O Prophet.” Is this person considered to be committing shirk (associating partners with Allah)? And what is the prescribed action toward him? May Allah reward you with good and reward you.

A 2 : Calling the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or the parents when standing up from sitting is not permissible; because it is seeking aid and calling for help from those who are absent or dead, and calling for help from the dead and the absent is a type of worship, and directing it to other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah). Therefore, it is obligatory to abandon this phrase and to forbid it. The prescribed thing is to say when standing up: “O Allah” or “O Most Merciful, help us” or “facilitate our affairs,” or the like of that; because He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the One capable of everything. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
