Her mother does not accept his visitation

Fatwa No. ( 1751 )
Q: My mother—may Allah reward her with good—is in my father’s house. My father passed away in the month of September 1993 AH. I have been living alone with my wife and children in a house near my mother’s house since 1391 AH, while my father was still alive. On some days, I host a feast, so I cut a leg of the sacrificial animal for her, add some liver and fat, and send it with my son, who is fourteen years old. She returns it to him. Then we send it to my elder sister, and my sister returns it. The reason is that my mother and my sister do not like my wife. I am fulfilling my duty to Allah; I visit my mother at home, and I visit my sister. But it has occurred to me regarding them because every time I send them meat, they return it. Do I have any sin before Allah?
A: If the matter is as you described, regarding your visitation to your mother and sister and sending them meat on occasions, then you have done well in what you did. However, your mother and sister may be hoping for more from you than this; they may be expecting you to invite them to your home on the day of the feast instead of sending them a portion of the sacrificial animal. They are more deserving of an invitation to attend the feast than anyone else. And perhaps
they were hoping that you would go to them yourself, bringing with you the meat and other gifts you intend to give them, out of respect for them and to bring them joy, instead of sending your son with it. Our advice to you is to increase in being dutiful to them and doing good to them. Invite them to your home during festivals and occasions, in addition to visiting them. If they refuse to come to your home, go to them yourself with the gift. If they also refuse, because of their dislike of your wife as you mentioned in your question, then you have fulfilled the obligatory duty and there is no blame on you. You are not required to please them by divorcing your wife, as long as she is obedient to Allah, fulfills your rights, and carries out what is obligatory upon her, and as long as she has not caused any harm to your mother or your sister. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
