The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2724 )
Q2: A few days before my father passed away, he asked us to be in our old house, which is not fully functional. Then he died, and my mother entered the state of mourning there and has not yet left it. I am about to get married, and this old house is not suitable for living in. So, should I move my mother to the second house?
A2: The principle is that a woman observes her mourning period in her husband's house where she was when he died, and she does not leave it except for a need or dire necessity; such as visiting the hospital when ill, or buying her needs from the market, like bread and the like, if she has no one to do that for her; as narrated by Fari'ah bint Malik who said:
My husband went out in search of some of his slaves, so they caught up with him at the edge of the city and killed him. I received the news of his death while I was in a spacious house among my family's houses. I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this to him, saying: The news of my husband's death reached me in a spacious house among my family's houses, and he left no maintenance or wealth for his heirs, and there is no residence for him. If I were to move to my family and my brothers, it would be more suitable for me in some of my affairs. He said: Move. When I went out to the mosque or to the chamber, he called me, or ordered me to be called, and I was called, and he said: Remain in the house where you received the news of your husband's death until the term of the book is fulfilled. She said: So I observed my mourning period there for four months and ten days. She said: And Uthman sent for me, so I informed him, and he acted upon it.

It was narrated by the five, and al-Tirmidhi graded it as authentical-Tirmidhiand did not mentional-Nasa'iand Ibn Majahthe transmissionof Uthmanend of quote. Therefore, there is no need for your mother to leave your father's house and move to your new house for the purpose you mentioned in the question until the appointed time of the decree arrives. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
