Visiting relatives by a woman in mourning
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 12414 )
Q1: My father passed away on 16/2/1408 AH. During the mourning period, my maternal uncle took my mother to his home in the second and fourth months, and she stayed overnight with him. Some of my relatives said that this is not permissible. Does she bear any sin for this or not? Please note that she did not know whether it was permissible or not, and she was taken from her home with the intention of an invitation. Does she have to fast or do anything else?
A1: It is not permissible for a woman who is in the period of mourning to go out to visit her relatives. Since your mother went out while ignorant of the ruling, we hope for her forgiveness for what happened, and she owes nothing.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
