Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 3924 )
Q3: I am a soldier and the month of Ramadan has come upon me. Is it permissible for me to break my fast, knowing that the circumstances do not allow me to fast?
A3: It is not permissible for you to break your fast in Ramadan while you are obligated to fast, unless you are traveling or you are ill with an illness that prevents you from fasting. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:185] and His saying: [Al-Hajj 22:78] and His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:286] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih al-Bukhari 7288 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

A3: It is not permissible for you to break your fast in Ramadan while you are obligated to fast, unless you are traveling or you are ill with an illness that prevents you from fasting. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days
وَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَand has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty
وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍAllah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity
لاَ يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلا وُسْعَهَاAnd if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can.
إذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا منه ما استطعتم
