Fatwa number ( 2427 )
Q: If the manager of the institution where I work asks me to perform work at the time of prayer, should I do it or not, and what should I do?
A: If you are able to do what he ordered you to do while also performing the prayer in congregation in the mosque, there is nothing wrong with it, provided that what he ordered you to do is not forbidden. If it is forbidden, or if it prevents you from performing the prayer with your brothers in congregation in the mosque, do not obey him in that; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Abi Dawud 2625Sahih (Al-Albani) , and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 3696 .
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
