A young man separated from his father, working in Saudi Arabia, who before coming to them indulged in excess and committed the greatest of sins, but then repented to Allah, and praise be to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A young man separated from his father, working in this blessed land, says: Before I came here, I indulged in excess, indeed I committed the greatest of sins. But after a period, I repented to Allah. However, I doubted my repentance because I heard a hadith that says:
Three things with which no deed is of any benefit ثلاثة لا ينفع معهن العمل
and he counted among them
Undutifulness to parents عقوق الوالدين
Is there a way out for me? And is it permissible for me to perform Hajj before returning to them? Even though if I traveled there before performing Hajj, it would be impossible for me to return here due to the difficulty of the journey for me? And will my righteous deeds be accepted? I ask for advice and guidance regarding this.

The Shaykh : I say that righteous deeds are accepted from this man who repented to Allah the Exalted and Sublime from undutifulness to his parents. However, since undutifulness is among the rights of people, it is necessary to appease the parents and seek their forgiveness. There is no blame on him if he performs Hajj before that, or does a righteous deed before that, because undutifulness is not apostasy that invalidates deeds, but it is among the major sins. So, from the realization of his repentance to Allah the Exalted and Sublime is that he appeases his parents and seeks their forgiveness for the undutifulness that occurred from him.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
