Among the benefits of the verse is that the hypocrites mock the people of faith.

The Shaykh : And among them is that the hypocrite mocks the people of religion. Listen to their saying: . And the reader who is not a jurist, O people. The reader who is not a jurist. This resembles what some people say today about the scholars and students of knowledge, calling them "al-mutawa'ah." What does "mutawa'ah" mean? It is a term of disparagement for them. These people disparaged the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family, saying that they are merely readers, meaning they have only recitation, but no action and no share. Are they truthful in this? Answer, O people. No, by Allah, they are not truthful. They are the readers who are jurists. Know that the reader is not the jurist, and the jurist is not the reader. The reader is the one who memorizes the texts but does not know their meaning, or knows their meaning but does not apply them. How many are there who know the texts but do not apply them! And how many are there who recite them but do not understand them! For this reason, we say to you, O brothers: Beware of being among those who recite but do not understand. You will find a person who is a reader, memorizing many hadiths, but he is not a jurist. As it came in the hadith: Sunan Ibn Majah 3056Hasan (Darussalam). And Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: . How many of these people are there today who have recitation but no jurisprudence! And knowledge, O my brothers, requires knowledge, understanding, intellect, and upbringing. If you fill the student's brain with knowledge but without understanding, what benefit does he gain? Answer. He gains nothing. And if you fill it with knowledge and understanding but without upbringing, he gains no benefit. For this reason, I say to my brothers, the students of knowledge: You must have upbringing, the upbringing of good character, the beneficial upbringing in accordance with your knowledge. You must place knowledge in its proper place. You must look at what follows from knowledge; what you think is a benefit may actually be a great harm. - Has the sleep left you, O man? Yes? Rest. -
