Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, you have explained how to protect oneself from the evil of a sorcerer. Is there a way to protect oneself from the evil of an envious person as well, since our sister is asking this question?
Answer:
Yes. One should seek refuge in Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) from the evil of the envious person,
And from the evil of an envier when he envies."وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
[al-Falaq:5], by reciting
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[al-Ikhlas:1] and the two protective chapters (al-Mu'awwidhatayn) after every prayer, three times after Maghrib and Fajr, and three times before sleeping. This is a means of protection from the evil of the envious person and from all evil. Both men and women should do this. This is one of the greatest remedies to which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided.
If one finds what he suspects to be a tool of sorcery under a door threshold, under a table, in the ceiling, or elsewhere, he should destroy it. If he finds what he suspects to be a tool of sorcery, such as a knotted object, or something placed in a container, or in a machine, or something he suspects to be the work of a sorcerer, he should destroy it. This is also a means of well-being. Yes.
