The Lawful Means of Protection from Sorcery

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the Shari'ah method of protection from sorcery?

Answer:
As you heard in the seminar, one should ask Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) for well-being, and seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone says three times: "In the name of Allah, when Whose name is mentioned nothing on Earth or in Heaven can cause harm, and He is the Hearer, the Knower"من قال: بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم ثلاث مرات لم يضره شيء
Sunan Abi Dawud 5088Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
Likewise, when one enters a house, he should say:
I seek refuge in the Perfect Word of Allah from the evil of what He has created," nothing would harm him until he marches from that stopping place.أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق، لم يضره شيء حتى يرتحل من منزله ذلك
Sahih Muslim 2708a
and repeat in the morning and evening
I take refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He createdأعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق
Sunan Abi Dawud 3898Sahih (Al-Albani)
three times
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alimبسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3869
three times.
Likewise, reciting the Verse of the Throne after every prayer and at bedtime is among the causes of safety, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two chapters of seeking refuge after every prayer are among the causes of safety, and after the obligatory prayer and Maghrib three times, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two chapters of seeking refuge; this is among the causes of safety.
And the remembrance of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), and the frequent recitation of His great Book, and asking Him to protect you from the evil of every evil-doer, is among the causes of safety
I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.أعوذ بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان وهامة ومن كل عين لامة،
Sahih al-Bukhari 3371
likewise
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah which no righteous person or sinner can surpass, from the evil of what He has created, scattered, and brought forth, and from the evil of what descends from the sky and from the evil of what ascends in it, and from the evil of what He has scattered on the earth and from the evil of what emerges from it, and from the evil of the comers of the night and the day, and from the evil of every comer except a comer who comes with good, O the Most Mercifulأعوذ بكلمات الله التامات التي لا يجاوزها بر ولا فاجر، من شر ما خلق وذرأ وبرأ، ومن شر ما ينزل من السماء ومن شر ما يعرج فيها، ومن شر ما ذرأ في الأرض ومن شر ما يخرج منها، ومن شر طوارق الليل والنهار، ومن شر كل طارق إلا طارق يطرق بخير يا رحمن
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 22:491
and these are among the seekings of refuge by which Allah protects the servant from evil.
