Ways of Protection from Sins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I am a young man who performs all the obligations that Allah has made obligatory, I fast and I pray, but sometimes Satan entangles me in deeds that I do not approve of. What should I do? Is there any protection or recitations that will stand between me and sins?

Answer:
Yes, yes. You must repent to Allah and ask Him for guidance and success in sincere repentance. You must seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan and his whispers constantly, and seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, three times in the morning and three times in the evening. And say:
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alimباسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3869
, three times, in the morning and in the evening. Allah is sufficient for you against the evil of Satan and his whispers, and sufficient for you against the evil of your own self.
Among the good supplications and good seekings of refuge, you say:
I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.أعوذ بكلمات الله التامة، من كل شيطانٍ وهامة، ومن كل عينٍ لامة
Sahih al-Bukhari 3371
, when going to sleep, and you increase in this in other times as well. You recite the Verse of the Throne when going to sleep and after every prayer, and you recite:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Surat al-Ikhlas:1] and the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu'awwidhatayn), once after the midday, afternoon, and night prayers, and three times after the sunset and dawn prayers. All of this is among the causes of safety and well-being from sins and evil, along with asking Allah for success and steadfastness in repentance, and well-being from the evil of the self and Satan. Whenever you are sincere in this, Allah will protect you, help you, and be sufficient for you against the evil of your own self.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
