Three Divorces at Different Intervals
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6447 )
Q1: A man divorced his wife with one divorce, then took her back after two weeks, then divorced her with one divorce after twenty years, then took her back, then divorced her with one divorce after a year, and did not take her back. What is the ruling on this divorce? Is it considered three divorces, such that she is not lawful for him except after another husband, or is it otherwise?
A1: If the situation is as described, she has become unlawful to him by the third divorce, and she is not lawful for him thereafter until she marries another husband in a lawful marriage, involving entry and intercourse, and then he separates from her by divorce or death, and her waiting period ends. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
