The Shaykh: A hadith like this, but from another Companion, and its chain of narration is authentic: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 352 .
From Anas, that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Prophet of Allah, when is the Hour? He said: . He said: I have not prepared anything great, except that I love Allah and His Messenger. He said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2387Sahih (Darussalam) .
Anas said — this is a benefit —: I never saw the Muslims rejoice more after embracing Islam than they did on that day: when the Muslims, meaning the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), heard the response of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to that Bedouin that a person is with whom he loves, the Companions did not rejoice on any day as they rejoiced on this day when they heard the Messenger (peace be upon him) say:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2387Sahih (Darussalam) after their joy at entering Islam. So their first joy was when Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) guided them to establish Islam as a religion, and their second joy was on this day when the Messenger (peace be upon him) said to that Bedouin: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2387Sahih (Darussalam) . The reason for this joy is more apparent here than in the previous hadith of Abu Dharr, for here this Bedouin, when he first asked the Messenger (peace be upon him), he said to him: . He wanted to know when the Hour would stand so that perhaps he would work for it and prepare for it more than before. So the response of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to this questioner about the Hour was of the style of the wise, as the jurists and scholars say. He did not say to him, "The Hour will stand after a thousand years, after two thousand years, or the like." Rather, he completely diverted him from answering his question by directing to him the important question, meaning the Messenger, who was the one being asked, turned to ask the Bedouin, saying to him: . As if he was saying to him: The important thing is to prepare for the standing of the Hour; it is not important to know when the Hour will stand. Therefore, he said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): . The man's answer was explicit, without any evasion or concealment of himself, as is the case with most people in this time when asked such an embarrassing question that reveals the details of the one being asked. People usually avoid answering this question either absolutely or by answering with the truthful reality. This Bedouin did not take this crooked path, but rather answered him with complete frankness, saying: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 352 But I followed this answer with his saying: Sahih al-Bukhari 6167 This is a matter of the heart. As for the aspect of action, I am deficient with my Lord, and I have not prepared or arranged for it any great deed except that I love Allah and His Messenger. So he said (peace and blessings be upon him): .
Anas reported that a man asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Prophet of Allah, when will the Final Hour come?" He said, "Have you not made preparation for it?" He replied, " I am not prepared for a terrible event , but I love Allah and His Messenger." He said, "A man is with the one he loves."
